Part of MUSC Children's Health's pediatric concussion program, this Mount Pleasant clinic evaluates and treats children and adolescents after a concussion or head injury using a team approach. An initial one-and-a-half to two-hour assessment covers history and physical, vestibular testing, and evaluation of the ocular-motor system and balance, provided by a pediatric neurology PA, a neuro-cognitive therapist/speech-language pathologist and a physical therapist, with neuropsychology, occupational therapy and neurology available as needed. Savannah Wawner, MSPAS, PA-C, sees patients here, and the team helps coordinate return-to-learn planning with schools.
