The Nebraska Medicine Concussion Management Clinic in Omaha assembles a multidisciplinary team to evaluate and treat concussions, with each patient assessed at the first visit by physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech-language pathology providers. Physical therapists address balance, dizziness, headaches and neck pain and help decide when it is safe to resume activity, while an academic liaison coordinates a student's return to school. When needed, patients are referred to specialists such as neurologists, neuropsychologists or neuro-optometrists, and care plans are tailored to each injury.
