The Alaska Brain Injury Program at Providence St. Elias Specialty Hospital provides inpatient rehabilitation aimed at helping Alaskans regain independence and return to community life after a brain injury. Individualized plans address physical effects as well as changes in language, memory, thinking, behavior and personality, with physical, occupational and speech therapy typically provided about three hours a day, five days a week. Doctors, nurses, therapists and social workers support patients and families throughout recovery.
