Marshall Neuroscience's Pediatric Concussion Clinic, affiliated with Hoops Family Children's Hospital in Huntington, was created to evaluate and manage concussion symptoms in children and teenagers, whose developing brains may be affected differently than adults'. At each visit a patient is seen by both a general pediatrician and a pediatric neurologist, so that two perspectives inform the assessment and care plan. The clinic emphasizes conservative management and advises against returning to sports or recreation until an experienced clinician confirms symptoms have resolved. It meets weekly on the Cabell Huntington Hospital campus, and no physician referral is required.
