University of Iowa Health Care runs one of the few Midwest programs offering multispecialty care for complex sports-related concussion, treating children, teens, and adults whose symptoms persist or who have had repeated injuries. The team pairs sports medicine physicians, athletic trainers, neuropsychologists, and physical therapists, using tools such as the Buffalo Concussion Treadmill Test, vestibular rehabilitation, cognitive testing, and vision therapy. It also guides athletes through a medically supervised return-to-learn and graduated return-to-play process.
